 1.Beijing recorded its heaviest rainfall this year as the remnants of Typhoon Doksuri passed through China's capital on Monday, forcing over 31,000 people to evacuate their homes in the city, according to state broadcaster CCTV. Heavy rain continued to fall in the capital as well as Hebei, Tianjin and eastern Shanxi as Doksuri dissipated over northern China, the China Meteorological Administration said.- https://www.hindustantimes.com/

2.Italy's defence minister Guido Crosetto said that his country's choice to join Chinese infrastructure project Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) was "wicked." The present Italian Government is considering whether to keep participating in the scheme, he said in an interview with Corriere della Sera newspaper. 3.TheAdani Group’s renewable energy project in Mannar and Pooneryn in Sri Lanka’s Northern Province will be completed by January 2025, according to Minister of Power and Energy Kanchana Wijesekera. The commitment was given when Group Chairperson Gautam Adani met Sri Lankan President Ranil Wickremesinghe in New Delhi on July 21, the Minister said in a tweet. 5.Parliament is set for another rocky session this week, with the Centre likely to introduce the Government of National Capital Territory of Delhi (Amendment) Bill, 2023, which, if passed, will replace an ordinance that gives the Union government control of the national capital’s bureaucratic set-up.

6.The University of Mumbai (MU) has taken a significant leap by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoUs) with two American universities, the University of Illinois and St. Louis University. The agreements for MoU were formalised during the ‘Akhil Bharatiya Shiksha Samagam 2023’ event held at Bharat Mandapam, Pragati Maidan, New Delhi, on Sunday.
