U.K. accuse China of state-backed cyberattacks, voter data theft.- Hackers linked to the Chinese government launched a
sweeping, state-backed operation that targeted U.S. officials, journalists,
corporations, pro-democracy activists and the U.K.'s election watchdog,
American and British authorities said on March 25 in announcing a set of
criminal charges and sanctions.The intention of the campaign, which officials
say began in 2010, was to harass critics of the Chinese government, steal trade
secrets of American corporations and to spy on and track high-level political
figures. Western officials disclosed the operation, carried out by a hacking
group known as APT31, while sounding a fresh, election-year alarm about a
country long seen as having advanced espionage capabilities.
Maldives President Muizzu advised to
‘stop being stubborn’ and hold 'dialogue' with India.- Former Maldives President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has called
upon current President Mohamed Muizzu to engage in dialogue with
neighbouring countries to tackle the nation's financial challenges, PTI
reported. Solih's remarks come in response to recent calls from President
Muizzu, known for his pro-China stance, urging India to provide debt
relief to the Maldives. Speaking at an event in Male', Solih emphasised the
importance of dialogue and cooperation in overcoming the economic hurdles
facing the nation.

meets Singapore PM Lee & senior Ministers to further deepen bilateral ties.-External Affairs Minister Dr S. Jaishankar on March 25
called on Singapore Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong, Foreign Minister Vivian
Balakrishnan and other senior ministers and discussed ways to further the
strategic bilateral ties, and the situation in the Indo-Pacific and West Asia
regions.Mr. Jaishankar is on a three-day visit to Singapore and reached here on
Saturday. He addressed the Indian diaspora on Sunday and met with investors on
Saturday.
Sri Lanka to secure likely six year-moratorium on debt owed to India, Paris Club.-Sri Lanka is close to finalising a debt treatment plan with India and the Paris Club, sources familiar with the negotiations said, pointing to a likely moratorium of upto six years and a reduced interest rate during the repayment period.“The discussions are at an advanced stage. A formal agreement on the terms can be expected very soon,” the Colombo-based source told The Hindu on Thursday, after a recent discussion among members of the Official Creditor Committee [OCC].

bolster security.-The Delhi Police have strengthened security
around Prime Minister Narendra Modi's residence amid Aam Aadmi Party's call to
gherao the sprawling house in protest against chief minister Arvind Kejriwal's
arrest. The Delhi Police, however, have said that it has not granted permission
to AAP to hold any protests, according to ANI. "No permission has been
granted (to AAP for protest). We have made sufficient deployment at the PM
residence and Patel Chowk metro station to maintain law and order," Deputy
Commissioner of Police Devesh Kumar Mahla told ANI. “No march or demonstration
will be allowed. No routes diversions done.”
