Quad countries call for end in violence in Ukraine, Gaza, and Myanmar .-The Quadrilateral partnership consisting of Australia, India, Japan, and the United States intends to expand the Indo-Pacific Partnership for Maritime Domain Awareness (IPMDA) into the Indian Ocean Region, the Foreign Ministers of the four member countries announced on Monday in Tokyo. Addressing the meeting, External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar said the four members of the Quad grouping are democracies that are working as a “powerful stabilizing factor.” The Ministers also called for immediate cessation of violence in Ukraine, Gaza, and Myanmar.

India "Important Partner" When World At "Historic Turning Point": Japan -Calling India an "important partner" at a time when the world is at a "historic turning point", Japan on Monday said that it hopes to work more closely with the government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the times to come.External Affairs Minister S. 4 gold and 1 silver — meet the winners of International Mathematics Olympiad 2024. -A six-member team of Indian students represented India at the International Mathematics Olympiad 2024. The team clocked four gold and one silver medal at the event which was held in Bath, United Kingdom between July 11 and July 22. Prime Minister Narendra Modi too congratulated the team and called the moment “a matter of immense joy and pride.” In his X post, he said the achievement will continue to inspire youngsters and help make mathematics even more popular.

The rise of sports and music tourism.-The new research revealed that sports fans globally are the biggest spenders, with over half (51%) exceeding US$500 per trip per person. Cricket, being one of India’s most popular sports, sees its fans in India (83%) travel to watch and support their favourite team. Football (soccer) fans in India are the second most likely to travel (49%), followed by those watching the Olympics (27%), basketball, and tennis (both 24%).

Industry hails Budget; optimistic about 9% growth rate .-Industry bodies have welcomed the Union Budget 2024-25 and called it a step in the right direction to achieve 9 per cent growth rate.With this, industry experts feel that there is continuity in policy announcements.
