 1.India bags gold and silver medals in Physics, Chemistry Olympiads 2024 .- Indian students have made the country proud by securing a total of six medals at the 54th International Physics Olympiad (IPhO) and the 56th International Chemistry Olympiad (IChO) 2024.The events, held from July 21 to July 29 in Isfahan, Iran, and from July 21 to July 30 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, saw remarkable performances by Indian participants .

2.Wayanad landslides LIVE: toll crosses 200; Rahul, Priyanka on their way to visit relief camps .-As many as 191 persons were reported missing; harsh terrain came in the way of rescue efforts by personnel of various forces; 1,592 persons were rescued from the ravaged sites in two days and moved to various hospitals; 99 persons are under treatment. 3.C P Radhakrishnan Sworn In As Governor Of Maharashtra .- C P Radhakrishnan was sworn in as the Governor of Maharashtra on Wednesday evening.He was administered the oath of office and secrecy by the Chief Justice of the Bombay High Court, Devendra Kumar Upadhyaya.C P Radhakrishnan, the 21st governor of Maharashtra since the state was formed in 1960, succeeds Ramesh Bais.

4.India, China hold 30th round of border talks.-India and China on Wednesday held the 30th meeting of the Working Mechanism for Consultation and Coordination on India-China Border Affairs (WMCC) in New Delhi during which the discussion was “in-depth, constructive and forward-looking”, and both sides agreed to maintain the momentum through established diplomatic and military channels, the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) said.

6.UPSC Cancels Puja Khedkar's IAS Selection, Bans Her From Taking Exam Ever. The selection of Puja Khedkar as a trainee IAS officer has been cancelled and she has been barred for taking the entrance exam for life after the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) found her guilty of faking her identity to take the exam multiple times.She requested for time till August 4. The UPSC granted her time till July 30 and made it clear that it was the "final opportunity" and "no further extension in time" would be allowed.

7.Taj becomes the first Indian hospitality brand to debut in Bahrain.- The Indian Hotels Company Limited (IHCL) signed two properties—a luxury hotel and boutique resort—in the Kingdom of Bahrain under its iconic Taj brand. 8.India and Maldives to sign MoU on tourism after ‘positive talks’ amid diplomatic row .-Amid a diplomatic row, the tourism ministries of Maldives Ibrahim Faisal and India are set to sign an agreement to diversify cooperation in the tourism sector.Male’s Tourism Minister Ibrahim Faisal arrived in India this week for a three-day visit in a bid to attract more Indian tourists to the archipelago nation. He met Indian Tourism Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat Tuesday where the two held a “positive” meeting.

Quad countries call for end in violence in Ukraine, Gaza, and Myanmar .-The Quadrilateral partnership consisting of Australia, India, Japan, and the United States intends to expand the Indo-Pacific Partnership for Maritime Domain Awareness (IPMDA) into the Indian Ocean Region, the Foreign Ministers of the four member countries announced on Monday in Tokyo.
