1.PM Modi To Visit Ukraine Today, Meet President Zelensky.- PM Narendra Modi is headed for his much-anticipated trip to Ukraine after wrapping up his two-day visit to Poland this morning. He is scheduled to meet the Ukrainian PM Volodymyr Zelenskyy, upon whose invite he is visiting the conflict-hit nation-state. PM Modi's Ukraine visit comes nearly six weeks after he visited Russia to discuss the conflict-ridden situation amid Russia Ukraine. This shall also be an Indian PM's first visit to Ukraine.

2.Defence Minister Rajnath Singh to visit U.S. as mega defence deals near conclusion.- Defence Minister Rajnath Singh is set to visit the U.S. from August 23 to 26. This comes as several highend defence deals between India and U.S, are in the final stages of conclusion.The visit comes as several high end defence deals are lined up as also friction over issues like Prime Minister’s visit to Russia and the Pannun episode.

3.Govt bans 156 cocktail medicines that include antibiotics, painkillers and multivitamins.-The government on Thursday banned 156 fixed-dose combination medicines, including antibiotics used for fever and colds, painkillers, and multivitamins, saying that they are ‘likely to involve risk to human beings’Fixed-dose combination (FDC) drugs are medicines that contain a combination of two or more active pharmaceutical ingredients in a fixed ratio. They are also referred to as "cocktail" drugs.

4.Four Gold Medals For India At U17 World Wrestling Championships, Women Wrestlers Shine.-Women wrestlers continued to raise the Indian tricolour high at the ongoing U17 World Wrestling Championships on Thursday as four gold medals were secured by the contingent. For India, Mansi Lather (women's freestyle 73 kg), Pulkit (women's freestyle 65 kg), Neha Sangwan (women's freestyle 57 kg) and Aditi Kumari (women's freestyle 43 kg) secured gold medals, as per Olympics.com.

5.Sri Lanka to offer visa-free entry to Indians, 34 other nations from Oct 1.-Good news for Indians planning a trip to the 'Pearl of the Indian Ocean'! The Sri Lankan government has announced visa-free access for citizens from 35 countries, including India, the UK, and the US, starting from October 1, 2024. "This visa-free entry will be available for a period of six months," said Minister of Tourism Harin Fernando, as quoted by news agency PTI.
