 President Vladimir Putin warned the West on Wednesday that Russia could use nuclear weapons if it was struck with conventional missiles, and that Moscow would consider any assault on it supported by a nuclear power to be a joint attack. The decision to change Russia's official nuclear doctrine is the Kremlin's answer to deliberations in the United States and Britain about whether or not to give Ukraine permission to fire conventional Western missiles into Russia.

India ranks third in the annual Asia Power Index, released by an Australian think-tank, surpassing Japan on the back of strong post-COVID 19 economic growth, while China's power appeared to plateau just below the United States.The Sydney-based Lowy Institute has put the US at the top of its Asia Power Index with a score of 81.7, followed by China with a score of 72.7, India (39.1), Japan (38.9), Australia (31.9) and Russia (31.1).

Mumbai rain live updates: 4 dead from rain-related accidents.- Heavy rain battered Mumbai on Wednesday, causing 4 deaths, inundating low-lying areas, halting local trains in their tracks and forcing the diversion of at least 14 incoming flights. The India Meteorological Department has issued a red alert for Mumbai and its adjoining districts Thane, Palghar, and Raigad till 8:30am on Thursday, September 26.

PM Modi Visit -Pune City Traffic Police announced several traffic changes including road closures and diversions as well as bans on parking and heavy vehicles on several roads ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s scheduled visit to the city on Thursday. Officials said that heavy rain predictions for Thursday as well as traffic stoppages for the VVIP convoy movements were expected to create traffic woes for Punekars.
