The University of Oxford has yet again emerged as the top university in the Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2025. The Maharashtra government has granted preliminary approval to an educational organisation to establish the city’s first ‘vertical’ university in Malad. Confined to a single high-rise instead of a sprawling campus, it will be a one-of-a-kind university in the entire country.

Heavy rainfall, along with violent thunderstorms and lightning, struck Mumbai on Thursday night, following an alert for thunderstorms issued in several parts of the city.The sudden downpour took many by surprise, as the India Meteorological Department (IMD) had only issued a ‘yellow’ alert for light to moderate rainfall in the city.

The food industry has asked the apex food regulator to increase lab testing facilities across the country.Senior executives of food companies had held meeting with the FSSAI CEO in this regard and called for additional lab facilities to curb the menace of adulteration. CEO KV Rao commented that FSSAI has put in place efforts for increased capacity of lab infrastructure including mobile testing labs wherever required and the food regulator is continuously working towards augmenting such facilities.
