Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu wrote to Prime Minister Narendra Modi condoling the death of Indian industry titan and chairman emeritus of the Tata Group, Ratan Tata. The business tycoon died on Wednesday night at the age of 86. He had been undergoing treatment for prolonged illness at Mumbai’s Breach Candy Hospital and was said to be in critical condition.

External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar is expected to be in Pakistan for the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) summit on Tuesday, amid heightened security and the deployment of the army in the national capital.Chinese Premier Li Qiang, Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin and Jaishankar will be among the senior regional government officials attending the event. The Centre on Sunday withdrew President’s Rule from Jammu and Kashmir, clearing the way for a new government to be formed in the Union territory.The home ministry issued a notification to this effect two days after National Conference Vice President Omar Abdullah met Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha and staked claim to form the new government.

The state government’s push to encourage female education by introducing a free education scheme through their higher and technical department has resulted in a notable increase of 25,136 admissions among female students this year across professional courses. According to the CET Cell data, 334,908 students across the state have enrolled in various vocational courses this year, with 139,163 of them being girls, representing 41.55% of the total students admitted.
