India and Mauritania on Thursday signed several Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) during President Droupadi Murmu's visit to the African nation.The MoUs were signed in the presence of President Murmu and Mauritanian President Mohamed Ould Ghazouani, and aimed at strengthening diplomatic ties between the two nations.

The United States has a broken immigration system that needs to be repaired, Vice President Kamala Harris said on Wednesday in a rare interview with the Republican-leaning news channel during which she sparred with its popular host.“The point is that we have a broken immigration system that needs to be repaired,'” Ms Harris told Fox News anchor Bret Baier in a rare sit-down with the news channel.

In a startling admission during a public inquiry on Wednesday, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau admitted that Canada had no "hard evidentiary proof" to support allegations linking Indian government agents to the killing of Khalistani terrorist Hardeep Singh Nijjar last year. External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar on Wednesday slammed the country over the issue of cross-border terrorism, suggesting that it should introspect over reasons why the ties between the two neighbours have frayed.During the SCO Council of Heads of Government (CHG) summit, Jaishankar said, “If trust is lacking or cooperation inadequate, if the friendship has fallen short and good neighbourliness is missing somewhere, there are surely reasons to introspect and causes to address.”

Justice Dhananjaya Y Chandrachud has officially initiated the process to appoint his successor by recommending Justice Sanjiv Khanna, the Supreme Court’s senior-most judge, to the Union government.Justice Khanna is set to take over as Chief Justice of India (CJI) on November 11, following Justice Chandrachud’s retirement on November 10.

The Election Commission of India announced the voting dates for Maharashtra this afternoon. Voting in Maharashtra will take place on November 20 and votes will be counted three days later on November 23. Meanwhile, Jharkhand will vote in two phases on November 13 and 20.
