Japanese Prime Minister Shigeru Ishiba said he has asked ministers to formulate an economic relief package to ease the bite of inflation.“We would need to support people suffering from rising costs right now until a positive growth cycle with wage increases outpacing inflation and driving capital expenditures is established,” Ishiba said Friday in his first policy speech to parliament as the country’s prime minister, according to a translation by Reuters.

The Adani Group has begun talks to acquire the Indian cement operations of Germany's Heidelberg Materials, according to people familiar with the matter. The proposed buyout of Heidelberg's India unit will be led by Adani Group company Ambuja Cements and could be worth around $1.2 billion (Rs 10,000 crore), they said.-

Gujarat Government to celebrate the week from October 7 to October 15 as ‘Development Week’ to mark the beginning of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s works as Chief Minister and Prime Minister. This week has been chosen specifically as Mr. Modi had taken over as the Chief Minister of Gujarat on October 7, 2001. During the week, various development initiatives and works will be launched. Schools, colleges and other institutions will hold events and activities about key development and welfare works initiated during his tenure as the Chief Minister from 2001 to 2014; and since then as the Prime Minister.

Mumbai Metro-3 or the Aqua Line – which is the city's first underground Metro service – opened for the public on Monday, the Mumbai Metro Rail Corporation (MMRC) said. The Metro line connecting Bandra-Kurla Complex (BKC) to Aarey Colony JVLR was inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday.

Quad countries call for end in violence in Ukraine, Gaza, and Myanmar .-The Quadrilateral partnership consisting of Australia, India, Japan, and the United States intends to expand the Indo-Pacific Partnership for Maritime Domain Awareness (IPMDA) into the Indian Ocean Region, the Foreign Ministers of the four member countries announced on Monday in Tokyo.
