Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in Brazil on Monday (November 18, 2024) on the second leg of his three-nation visit, during which he will attend the G20 Summit.Mr. Modi arrived in the South American country after wrapping up a "productive" visit to Nigeria, where he held bilateral talks with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and interacted with the Indian community.

PM Narendra Modi was conferred Nigeria's Grand Commander of the Niger (GCON) on Sunday, making him the second foreign dignitary after Queen Elizabeth to receive the honour, which, he said, symbolised the bond between India and Nigeria as well as their collective commitment to democracy, development, and mutual prosperity.

The Income-Tax (I-T) department has today (November 17) launched a new campaign warning taxpayers of ₹10 lakh penalty if they fail to disclose foreign held assets or income earned from abroad in their ITR, according to a PTI report.The “compliance-cum-awareness campaign” aims to ensure that taxpayers report all information in their Income Tax Return (ITR) for assessment year (AY) 2024-25. Further, the penalty will be imposed under the Anti-Black Money Law, it added.
