1.Ukrainian Ambassador to India Oleksandr Polishchuk on Saturday indicated that an India visit for President Volodymyr Zelensky is in the works. Speaking to reporters, the envoy said that the date is being decided for the same. Talking to ANI, Polishchuk said, "Definitely expected to have President Zelensky in India. It will be a great achievement in our bilateral relationship. We are in the process of agreeing on a precise date.”

2.External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar on Saturday (August 23, 2025) hit out at the United States for what he called “unjustified and unreasonable” tariffs on Indian goods, after the Trump administration raised duties to over 50% as a penalty for India’s purchase of Russian oil. Speaking at The Economic Times World Leaders Forum 2025, Mr. Jaishankar said India’s priority was to protect farmers and small producers, stressing that New Delhi would not compromise on their interest.

4.From this academic year, Mumbai University students pursuing traditional degree programmes like BA, BCom, and BSc can gain hands-on technical skills through newly introduced open electives. Under the scope of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, the Maharashtra State Board of Technical Education has designed select programmes such as Python programming, green energy, web designing, and even installation and repair of of consumer electronic products for students from across state universities.
