 1.The US Citizenship and Immigration Services has announced the opening of the initial registration period for the fiscal year 2027 H-1B visa cap. The window will open at noon Eastern on March 4 and close at noon Eastern on March 19, 2026. Employers must register beneficiaries online and pay a $215 fee for each entry. Selection notices are expected by March 31, 2026.

3.A 4.6-magnitude earthquake shook Jammu and Kashmir's Baramulla district early Monday (February 2, 2026), officials said. The tremor occurred at 5.35 a.m., they said, adding that the Pattan area was the epicenter.There were no reports of any damage due to the earthquake so far, the officials said.
