 1.New Delhi [India], March 29 (ANI): Top American economist and foreign policy expert Prof Jeffrey D Sachs said BRICS countries could have played a stronger role in mediating the ongoing West Asia conflict, but failed to intervene effectively in the negotiation process. Speaking to ANI, he called it a "lost opportunity." Sachs described the situation as "bizarre," particularly amid reports that Pakistan could play a role in mediation efforts.

2.Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday (March 29, 2026) noted that the situation in West Asia had created “challenging times” and called for those “politicising” the issue to refrain from doing so. 3.With the West Asia conflict causing disruptions to the global oil and gas supply, India has stepped in as part of its "neighbourhood policy".
