2.The US on Tuesday proposed new tariffs of at least 10% on imports from most major trading partners, including India, following a US investigation into alleged forced-labour practices. India is likely to face a 12.5% tariff.“The failure of our most important trading partners to address the importation of goods made with forced labor is unacceptable. This creates a dynamic where American workers are forced to compete globally on an unlevel playing field,” top trade official Jamieson Greer said.

4.The Maharashtra government on Tuesday formally acquired the iconic Air India building, a defining feature of the south Mumbai skyline known for its prime sea-facing location, for Rs 1,601 crore.
