1.Prime Minister Narendra Modi and US President Donald Trump on Wednesday discussed bilateral cooperation in trade, defence, energy and critical technologies, as India seeks to advance an interim trade arrangement with the United States.During a telephone conversation, the two leaders reviewed progress in bilateral cooperation and exchanged views on regional and international developments, including ongoing efforts to promote global peace and security, according to a statement issued by the Prime Minister's Office.

3.Leading traders' bodies have withdrawn their call to observe October 2 as a “No UPI Day” after a delegation of trade leaders met Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman in New Delhi on Wednesday. The proposed 0.4 percent fee on merchant payments above Rs 2,000, which had triggered the protest, is still scheduled to take effect from October 15. A delegation of around 20 senior trade leaders from across states met FM Sitharaman to raise concerns over the likely impact of the fee on small and medium businesses.

4.The Gujarat High Court division bench has dismissed the appeal filed by Aam Aadmi Party chief Arvind Kejriwal, upholding the Rs 25,000 fine imposed on him in the Prime Minister Narendra Modi degree disclosure case.The two-judge bench delivered the verdict after having previously reserved its judgment. The court found no merit in Kejriwal's challenge and refused to interfere with the earlier ruling.

5.The Food Safety & Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) has suspended the food licence of Seven Seas Hospitality in Delhi’s Rohini with immediate effect. After the inspection carried out at the FBOs premises, the food regulator has asked the food business operator to cease all its food activities with immediate effect.In a post, FSSAI said, “Licence of FBO M/s Seven Seas Hospitality Pvt. Ltd. has been suspended with immediate effect due to serious food safety violations identified during inspection. The action reflects FSSAI’s continued focus on ensuring compliance, hygiene and safe food practices across food businesses.”
