Droupadi Murmu will visit Meghalaya and Assam from January 15 to 17, an official
statement by the Rashtrapati Bhavan said on Sunday.The president will
inaugurate the Meghalaya Games at the PA Sangma Stadium in Tura on
Monday, it said.The President will address the members of self-help groups at
Baljek Airport, Tura, and virtually lay the foundation stone for the new
Integrated Administration Complex, Tura.

MP warns of ecological fragility amid rising tourism interest.:Prime Minister Narendra Modi's recent visit to Lakshadweep
and subsequent diplomatic crisis with the Maldives has sparked interest in the

local MP Mohammad Faizal warned about the fragility of the island's ecology and
the need for strict regulations. Faizal told NDTV that the tourist inflow has to be controlled
considering the "integrated Island management plan" laid down by the
Justice Ravindran Commission.

Parliament budget session to start from Jan 31, 'interim budget' on Feb 1.:The Union Budget
session is scheduled to commence on January 31, extending until February 9, as
per sources from India Today. Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman is set to
present the Interim Budget for FY25 on February 1. The session will kick off with President Draupadi Murmu addressing
both houses on January 31, officially inaugurating the Budget session.Sources indicate a potential proposal in the
interim budget to double the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi for women farmers. This
move, expected to be announced on February 1, could incur an additional cost of
Rs 12,000 crore for the government, according to Reuters.

Mumbai airport's first phase to be operational by March-end next year: Scindia.:

Scindia has said the Navi Mumbai international airport will be commercially
operational by March 2025. The upcoming airport is not just an important
infrastructure project for Mumbai or Maharashtra but is a project of pride for
the entire nation, he told reporters on Saturday. He inspected the
progress of the work connected to the airport, which is being built in five
phases."The physical and financial completion is 55 to 60 per cent. The
project began in 2018 and commercial operationalisation is expected by March
31, 2025.

Records Season's Coldest Morning At 3.3 Degrees Celsius Amid Fog.:Delhi continued to reel under cold conditions
on Monday morning as it recorded the season's lowest minimum temperature at 3.3
degrees Celsius, four notches below the season's average.A thick layer of fog
was seen in several parts of the city, weather officials said.On Sunday, the
minimum temperature was recorded at 3.5
degrees Celsius, which was the previous lowest of the season.

8.Maharashtra board releases official SSC and HSC exam dates for 2024.:The Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary and Higher Secondary Education announced the final dates for the Secondary School Certificate (SSC) and Higher Secondary School (HSC) exams on Wednesday. The SSC exams will take place from March 1 to March 26, while HSC exams are scheduled from February 21 to March 19. Additionally, the Information Technology (IT) and General Knowledge (GK) online exams for HSC students will be be held from March 20 to 23. The practical exams for SSC will be held from February 10 to 29.
