1.US President Donald Trump has announced 25 per cent tariffs on imports from India plus a "penalty", while his administration struck a deal with Pakistan in which Washington will work with Islamabad in developing the South Asian nation's oil reserves.
2.Six Indian companies are under the radar of the US Department of State. Their fault? They "engage in Iranian petroleum, petroleum products, or petrochemical trade". This reportedly violates American sanctions under Executive Order 13846. The US claims that the Iranian regime uses revenue to fuel conflict in the Middle East, fund terrorism, and oppress its people.
3.The NASA-ISRO Synthetic Aperture Radar (NISAR) satellite was successfully launched on Wednesday (July 30, 2025) from the Satish Dhawan Space Centre at Sriharikota in Andhra Pradesh. The Geosynchronous Satellite Launch Vehicle (GSLV)-F16 rocket carrying the earth observation satellite lifted off from the second launch pad of the space centre at 5.40 p.m. Eighteen minutes later, it injected the satellite into a sun-synchronous orbit.
4.The Indian tourism pattern is on the brink of transformation and the FAITH Conclave 2025, to be held from August 12 to 13 in New Delhi, appears to be a landmark in this journey. For the first time post pandemic this dialogue is organised by the Federation of Associations in Indian Tourism & Hospitality (FAITH) and will see the largest gathering of government and industry leaders. The Conclave envisages to serve as one roadmap on the journey towards 2047 and India becoming the next big Tourism destination in the World.
