2.India, Saudi Arabia ink Haj agreement with over 1.75 lakh pilgrim quota for 2024: India and Saudi Arabia on Sunday signed a bilateral agreement under which New Delhi has been allocated a quota of 1,75,025 pilgrims for the annual Haj pilgrimage in 2024.Minority Affairs Minister Smriti Irani accompanied by Minister of State for External Affairs V Muraleedharan signed the Bilateral Haj Agreement 2024 with Saudi Minister of Hajj and Umrah Dr. Tawfiq bin Fawzan in Jeddah.

3.India-Maldives diplomatic row: MEA summons Maldivian envoy.:The Maldivian envoy to India was on Monday summoned to the external affairs ministry and was conveyed strong concern over remarks posted on social media against Prime Minister Narendra Modi by a number of ministers of the Maldives, sources said. The government of the Maldives on Sunday suspended three deputy ministers for derogatory social media posts against Modi.

4.PM to inaugurate Vibrant Global Trade Show that will see participation from 20 nations.: As part of the 10th Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit, held biennially in the state, the state government will host the ‘Vibrant Gujarat Global Trade Show 2024’ between January 9 and January 13 at Helipad Ground in Gandhinagar.The mega trade show, featuring exhibitions and stalls spanning an area of two lakh square meters, will be inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday at 3 pm. Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel, along with Indian and International dignitaries as well as industrialists, will be present at this inaugural event.

5.Ambani says Reliance-Brookfield to open data centre in Chennai next week.: Billionaire Mukesh Ambani on Sunday said his firm Reliance Industries in partnership with Canada's Brookfield will open a data centre in Chennai next week, marking entry into the fast-growing market.Reliance had in July last year invested about Rs 378 crore to enter an existing joint venture, where Brookfield Infrastructure and US-based realty estate investment trust Digital Realty were already partners. The three own 33 per cent each in the venture.

6.Use social media influencers to disseminate info, PM tells police chiefs:Prime Minister Narendra Modi urged the top police officers of the country to explore whether social media influencers can be engaged to disseminate information in public interest, according to a senior government official. While addressing the three-day annual Director General of Police (DGP) conference in Jaipur, Mr. Modi said that there was a need to use social media effectively. He also called for the training of police officials in handling cyber-related crimes and the challenges posed by Artificial Intelligence (AI).

7.Stop selling unhealthy food in canteens’: The health ministry has directed all central government-run hospitals and medical institutes to stop selling unhealthy high-fat foods in their canteens, and instead promote fresh food. In a letter, the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) Atul Goel also asked all hospitals to ensure that their premises are tobacco and alcohol free. There are 22 Centre-run hospitals across the country, with seven based in the national capital.
