 1.Trump Says Ukraine War Must End as Senate Advances Aid Package.: Donald Trump said that war between Ukraine and Russia must end, reiterating his disapproval for sending more aid overseas as the Senate seeks to move forward with a package to provide emergency funding for Ukraine and Israel “We got to get that war settled and I’ll get it settled," Trump, the Republican front-runner for the 2024 presidential nomination, said at a campaign rally Saturday in Conway, South Carolina.

2.Sri Lanka, Mauritius launch UPI services today.: PM Narendra Modi will be joined by his Mauritius counterpart Pravind Jugnauth and Sri Lankan President Ranil Wickremesinghe in witnessing the launch of Unified Payment Interface services in Sri Lanka and Mauritius and also RuPay card services in Mauritius, via video conferencing Monday. The launch will enable availability of UPI settlement service for Indian nationals travelling to Sri Lanka and Mauritius nationals travelling to India.

 3.Pakistan election results: PML-N in alliance talks with PPP, MQM-P; Nawaz Sharif could be PM.: The Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leaders began discussing the terms of an alliance with the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) and the Muttahida Quami Movement-Pakistan to carve out a formula for the formation of a government, The Express Tribune reported. The PML-N would take the post of prime minister, and the posts of the president and National Assembly speaker will be set aside for its partners if an alliance is agreed upon.-

 4.Qatar court releases 8 former Indian Navy personnel; 7 back in India: MEA.: The Qatar court on Monday released all eight former Indian Navy personnel in its custody, out of which seven have returned to India, said a statement by the ministry of external affairs. In its official statement, the MEA welcomed the decision of the Qatar court to release the ex-Indian Navy men previously sentenced to death in the country, lauding their home-coming.

 5.Farmers' ‘Delhi Chalo’ protest: Section 144 enforced on Delhi-UP borders ahead of Tuesday's march.: Ahead of the farmers' march to the national capital on February 13, Tuesday, Delhi Police on Sunday imposed Section 144 of the Criminal Procedure Code in North-East Delhi and at the borders with neighbouring Uttar Pradesh to avoid any untoward incidents and ensure law and order. The city police also announced the imposition of Section 144 in Shahadara and Gandhi Nagar areas of the Capital, effectively banning large gatherings until March 11.

 6.Hyderabad woman falls to death in paragliding crash in Himachal Pradesh, pilot arrested.;A woman tourist from Hyderabad fell to her death in Himachal Pradesh's Kullu in a paragliding accident on Sunday, according to the police. The pilot has been arrested by the police in the case of the 26-year-old woman's death. Police, in their reports, said that the pilot in the paragliding facility failed to properly secure the safety belt of the tourist, which led her to fall to her death from a considerable height during the paragliding session.

7.Mumbai, Surat, Varanasi, and Vizag set for big transformation. The NITI Aayog has developed a plan to transform the cities of Mumbai, Surat, Varanasi, and Vizag, with the aim of helping India become a developed economy by 2047, according to it its CEO BVR Subrahmanyam. He also mentioned that the NITI Aayog intends to create economic plans for 20-25 more cities, as they are the hubs of economic activities.-

8.ITDC witnesses a 24% increase in turnover, reaching Rs 393.56 Crore till December 2023.: India Tourism Development Corporation (ITDC), the public sector undertaking under the aegis of the Ministry of Tourism, today announced a notable surge in its turnover for the cumulative period upto December 2023. Following an exceptional financial performance in FY 2022-23, ITDC continues to exhibit impressive results in 2023-24. The total cumulative turnover upto December 2023 amounted to Rs. 393.56 Crore, reflecting a substantial increase of over Rs. 75.09 Crore compared to the corresponding period of last year.

 10.The four-day liquor ban to result in a INR 300 cr loss for Karnataka.: The Bengaluru City District Liquor Traders Association (BCDLTA) has communicated through a letter to election officials, expressing concerns that the proposed 4-day liquor ban will result in significant losses for the industry and a decrease in excise duty revenue for the State government. The organization further emphasized that the ban coincides with Valentine’s Day, a time when sales typically surge. This spike is largely driven by Bengaluru’s sizable young demographic, known for frequenting restaurants and pubs on this occasion, thereby boosting revenue by approximately 50 percent. Approximately 3,700 establishments in Bengaluru will be impacted by this measure.
