Reservation Bill, a legislation that will grant a 10 per cent reservation for
the Maratha community in both education and government jobs. The Maharashtra
State Socially and Educationally Backward Bill 2024, once enacted, will undergo
a thorough review after a decade of implementation.The decision follows a
comprehensive report submitted by the Maharashtra State Backward Class
Commission, based on a survey covering nearly 2.5 crore families. This survey
meticulously explores the social, economic, and educational backwardness faced
by the Maratha community in the state.

7.Govt nod for 37 new MU-affiliated colleges in
city.- The
city has received a nod from state govt to start 37 new colleges
affiliated to University of Mumbai. Of these, 15 new colleges seek to
offer courses in legal studies.These colleges, which are approved for three-
and five-year LLB courses will largely be at Bhandup, Borivli, Nalasopara,

industry expected to witness revenue growth of 7-9% in FY2025; spiritual
tourism to drive demand. - The Indian hotel
industry is expected to witness a 7-9% revenue growth in FY2025, over the
14-16% growth expected in FY2024. Sustenance of domestic leisure travel, demand
from meetings, incentives, conferences, and exhibitions (MICE), including
weddings and business travel despite a temporary lull during the election
period, are likely to drive demand in FY2025, a report by ratings agency ICRA
has said.
