1.India's access to crucial energy supplies received a temporary boost on Friday after US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent announced a 30-day waiver allowing Indian refiners to purchase Russian oil. The Treasury Department's Office of Foreign Assets Control issued a Russia-related licence "Authorizing the Delivery and Sale of Crude Oil and Petroleum Products of Russian Federation Origin Loaded on Vessels as of March 5, 2026 to India," the Treasury said in a statement.

2.The raging war in the Middle East entered its seventh day on Friday, with Israel announcing a "next phase" in the conflict and bombing Lebanon's Beirut.The Israeli military said it killed Hezbollah's commander Zaid Ali Jumaa in Beirut. Lebanon was dragged into the widening conflict on Monday, when Iran-backed Hezbollah attacked Israel to avenge the killing of Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei.

3.Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday said conflicts cannot be resolved through military means alone and stressed the need for dialogue and diplomacy while referring to the wars in West Asia and Ukraine. 4.Maharashtra continues to be India’s largest state economy, with its nominal Gross State Domestic Product (GSDP) estimated at Rs 46.22 lakh crore in 2024-25. The state’s economy is expected to grow to Rs 51 lakh crore in 2025-26, according to the Economic Survey 2025-26 presented in the state assembly on Thursday.
