1.Not our war: Here are counties that rejected Trump’s Hormuz naval support demand- Donald Trump on Monday signalled a coalition to reopen the Strait of Hormuz, with Marco Rubio set to name participating nations. However, many key allies have snubbed the proposal, firmly ruling out any military involvement or deployment of warships to the region.President Emmanuel Macron said France is not a party to the conflict and will never take part in operations to open or liberate the Strait of Hormuz in the current context, speaking at the start of a cabinet meeting on Tuesday.

2.India’s second LPG carrier ‘Nanda Devi’ arrived safely at Vadinar port in Gujarat on Tuesday (March 17, 2026), carrying 46,500 metric tonnes of gas after navigating the Strait of Hormuz amid the West Asia conflict, an official said. ‘Nanda Devi’ has docked at Vadinar port in Devbhumi Dwarka district, and preparations were being made to shift the LPG (liquefied petroleum gas) to the daughter ship, Deendayal Port Authority Chairman Sushil Kumar Singh told reporters.

5.Following a review by a NITI Aayog High-Level Committee, the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) has officially notified the 2026 Amendment Regulations, fundamentally changing how food businesses operate across the country. The new rules aim to reduce the compliance burden on small-scale entrepreneurs while maintaining rigorous safety standards through a risk-based oversight model, wherein the ‘Registration’ category, previously reserved for very small operations, has been expanded to include businesses with an annual turnover of up to Rs 1.5 crore.
