 1.India’s relationship with Africa delivers a message of “stability in a turbulent world,” External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar said on Thursday (April 23, 2026). Speaking at the launch of the theme, website and logo of the upcoming 4th India-Africa Forum Summit (IAFS-IV), Mr. Jaishankar said India’s ties with Africa are rooted in the common struggle for freedom from colonial rule and highlighted development partnership and capacity building as key areas of collaboration between the two sides.

2.Defence minister Rajnath Singh on Tuesday said that the geopolitical instability in West Asia, driven by the ongoing conflict involving the US, Israel, and Iran, is no longer a regional issue, given its far-reaching implications for global energy security, food security, and economic stability. “For a developing country like India, which relies on the West Asian region for a significant share of its energy requirements, disruptions in the Strait of Hormuz are not distant events, they are stark realities with direct implications for our security and economic stability,” Singh said addressing German Parliamentarians in Berlin.

According to provisional figures, over 4.85 crore people voted from 7 a.m. in all the 234 Assembly constituencies to elect the 17th Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly.
