2.The death toll from flash floods in Nepal rose to 788 on Sunday (August 30, 2026), with more bodies being recovered, even as more than 2,500 people are still missing. The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority (NDRRMA) further said that at least 2,502 people are still missing, while 9,435 people were rescued from flood-hit areas so far.

5.The Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) has formally defined foods high in fat, sugar, and salt (HFSS). Although initially targeted at school children, the move is widely seen as a foundational step toward broader regulations governing HFSS foods across the broader consumer market. Under the newly issued draft regulations, the food regulator has established strict maximum threshold limits for added fat, sugar, and salt in food products aimed at school-going children.
